The Damien Foundation
Our Mission
The Damien Foundation is a Christ-centered, Gospel-affirming organization dedicated to honoring Damien’s wish, “To bless and encourage the brothers and sisters of the cancer patient.” Through thoughtful gifts and impactful experiences, we come alongside the entire family, supporting them throughout their journey and reminding them, as Damien reminded us, “The battle belongs to the Lord.”
Who We Are
Damien Smucker was diagnosed with a rare type of brain cancer (PNET), at the age of 10. He fought a hard fight and won his battle when he entered Heaven’s Gates on May 31, 2019. His life on earth was short—only 15 years—but we are hoping his legacy can live on for many years. We want to give back to hurting families that are going through similar journeys that our family has gone through. Yes, the cancer patient goes through a lot, but the siblings are also hit hard and are many times "forgotten".
What We Do
Our mission is to bless these families—the families of the cancer patient. The dream of a foundation in Damien's honor started 5 years ago, and now it’s becoming a reality. The Damien Foundation is honoring Damien’s wish by, “blessing and supporting the brothers and sisters of the cancer patient.” We do this through gifts at Christmas, special trips and events, and by sharing the gospel of Jesus and the hope that He has given us.
